Biblical Counseling
Center City Church Counseling Ministry desires to help and encourage individuals and families with the life changing truth of God's Word (2 Peter 1:3). We believe that the Word of God is living and active (Hebrews 4:12) and able to help with every single spiritual issue that individuals face (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
Center City Church invites you to take advantage of our FREE counseling ministry that seeks to give biblical guidance for your relationship with Christ and others. Our lives are shaped by how we think and what we love. These two areas have an incredible impact on how we interpret life situations. If you're seeking wisdom for; interpersonal relationships, marriage, anxiety, PTSD, abuse, adoption, infertility, abortion, parenting, addictions, sexual issues, guilt and shame, anger, depression or Christian faith issues (assurance of salvation, etc.), God's Word does have the answers.
Our counseling staff consists of both elders and laypeople who have degrees or are certified (or in the process of certification) by the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors.
What Kind of Counseling?
This philosophy has been called "nouthetic" counseling. Genuine Biblical counseling uses the Bible to help people make sense out of life. Counseling at Center City Church is not state-licensed mental health care, but is uniquely biblical, and pastoral in nature. Our counselors are not medical doctors therefore, they do not prescribe or manage medication. Those being counseled will always be encouraged to seek the advice of their medical doctors where physical symptoms of illness are present, or suspected.
What can you expect from CCC Counseling Ministry?
Privacy. Everything will be held in strict confidence except where, in the counselor’s judgment, there is a biblical requirement to involve others (e.g. criminal activity).
Care. Our counselors will care for you and treat you with respect.
Encouragement toward Christ-likeness. Our staff will encourage you and exhort you to think and behave in a way that pleases Jesus Christ.
What Does CCC Counseling Ministry Expect From You?
Be honest. It is very difficult, if not impossible, to help you if you are not honest with us. Do weekly homework assignments that will encourage lasting change. Give us a little time. Habits are not developed overnight, and new habits will take time to develop. In most cases, we ask individuals to commit to regular counseling appointments for a period of 3 to 4 months.
What Does CCC Counseling Cost?
There is no charge for our counseling services. Center City Church provides the facilities and the counselors volunteer their time so we can offer the counseling free of charge. However, out of respect for our counselors we require a $25 deposit which is forfeited for last minute cancellations. If an individual/couple finishes counseling without a cancellation, the deposit is returned to them unless otherwise directed by the counselee. ​
Center City Church recommends individuals/couples to consider a $25 donation for each session or to pray and contribute as God leads and provides. This allows the ministry to be accessible to as many people with challenging situations in and around our community.
When is Counseling Available?
Counseling is usually offered throughout the week based on our counselor’s availability. Generally counseling sessions last for one hour.
